A community of people who care about interaction

Dutch Touch is the short name for The Society for the Study of Social and Affective Touch in the Netherlands, started by Gijs Huisman in 2015.

The Society brings together professionals working around social touch – academic researchers, industry specialists working with haptics, haptic therapists, artists, and other professionals.

The Meetings of the Society are held on a yearly basis and are open to anyone interested. The purpose of the society is to inspire and to encourage cooperation of people working on social and affective touch across various disciplines and fields.

The next Dutch Touch meeting is on November 13th, 2026
